Meeting called to order by Pres. Angie Quinn, All members were present except
for Jim Faye and Bob Renner. Pres. Angie read letter from Waterfall Clinic that
they would like the club to write a letter of support. It's a clinic that started up
in Coos Bay that helps people who are too rich or too poor for Oregon Health
Plan. After long discussion, it was voted to have Pres. Angie send letter of our
support for the Clinic.
Treasure Report: Mike told the Board that he received $98.00 from dues and
coffee. $65.00 from dues, $20.00 from a class and rest from coffee donations.
We had expenses of $4.38 for coffee, $65.00 to Gloria Dei Church for rent. We
had another deposit of $114.00 with the $98.00 for a total of $212.00. We have
a total of $3879.48 in our checking account. It was also voted on to not have the
names of new members on the minutes of the meetings.
Classes: Gloria talked about upcoming classes. There will be a beginners
class at Swoya on the 6th and 8th of May. The sign-up sheet has a lot of
people wanting a beginners Word Class. Serge said he will handle the class.
It was brought up that we need to have Member sign-up applications at classes,
as some new people attend classes and are not members.
Data Base: Serge said that he will be taking members off list after three
months after being notified that they owe their dues. Their names will go to the
Archives list for one year and then deleted. There was a question on why don't
we have more speakers give talks on Viruses. It will be brought to Bob Renner's
attention.
Web Site: Walt told the Board that web site was coming along fine. We now
have a new URL address, http://bascc.ws. It will not link up to our Tri-pod
address, so we now also have two web address's. The cost for the new address
will be $44.00 and $16.00 for the year. Long discussion followed about the cost
and if we need two address's. Tabled for next meeting.
New Classroom. Ed told the Board that all is ready at the Roosevelt school
for us to start bringing in our computers. He stated that he had two computers
from SWOCC and possible for more. We have room for a total of 8 computers
and will be hooked up to Internet. It was voted that we start on May 1st with the
rent. Ed also stated we need a head set for our speakers, so as we are having
trouble with our lapel speaker. Voted on to spend $129.00 for new head set.
Newsletter: Val stated she needed Angie's column, Walt's list and Mike's list
of new members so she can print her newsletter.
With no more new business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 11:15 AM.
